'Into the Blue' — Anthropology Museum Opens Exhibit on Shipwrecks, Maritime Collection

CHICO, Calif. — A treasure trove of artifacts from the Frolic, a Baltimore Clipper that went down on the rocky coast of Mendocino in July 1850, is part of a new exhibit open at the Valene L. Smith Museum of Anthropology.

"Into the Blue: Maritime Navigation and the Archaeology of Shipwrecks," is the project of 21 Chico State University museum studies students under the direction of Professor Georgia Fox who teaches archaeology and anthropology.

A grand opening is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Jan. 23.
