A Lightbulb Moment

Where can I get odd types of lightbulbs? My local marine stores do not always have them.
Marine stores often have many of the lightbulbs you need on a boat; hardware stores seldom do. One of the “odd” types of bulbs you refer to is the UV lamp G25T8 Germicidal fluorescent tube for my water filtration and purification system. It is no longer available at my local marine store, The Bulbman, because the store is gone, but it is offered through the online store at bulbman.com.

There are other online retailers of odd bulbs, but I have not tried them. I really appreciate being able to talk to someone who can answer questions about any type of marine bulbs. To make online or phone transactions easier, get any numbers off the bulb you need, know its size, voltage and how you’re going to use it, and a supplier such as The Bulbman should be able to find the right bulb for you.

I recommend going around your boat once a year and checking all the lights. Make sure you have spares, especially for navigation lights.
